On the Home tab in classic Outlook, select New Items > Task or select the New Email drop-down arrow and select Task.

Enter details of the task and select Save & Close.
To assign the task to someone, select Assign Task. In the To box, enter their name or email address.

Enter the Subject, Start date, and Due date.

Select Send to assign the task.
Tip: To see your task list, at the bottom of the navigation pane in classic Outlook, select

In the navigation bar on the left margin of the window in new Outlook, select
(To Do). -
Select the Tasks tab, then enter a title for the task.

Add a due date (
) or a reminder ().You can also make the task repeat on a regular schedule (
). -
On the right end, select Add.

To see your entire task list, select Tasks in the navigation pane.
