Applies ToOutlook for Microsoft 365 New Outlook for Windows
  1. On the Home tab in classic Outlook, select New Items > Task or select the New Email drop-down arrow and select Task.

  2. Enter details of the task and select Save & Close.

    To assign the task to someone, select Assign Task. In the To box, enter their name or email address.

  3. Enter the Subject, Start date, and Due date.

  4. Select Send to assign the task.

Tip: To see your task list, at the bottom of the navigation pane in classic Outlook, select Tasks Icon (Tasks).
