You can ask Outlook to recall a message you already sent, but only in some cases. You and the recipient must both be using a Microsoft 365 account in the same organization. Messages sent to people outside your organization, or to personal accounts such as Outlook.com or Gmail, can't be recalled.
To try to recall a message:
- Go to your Sent folder and open the message you want to recall.
- Tap the three dots (More options) in the top right corner.
- Tap Recall.
You get an email letting you know whether the recall worked. A recall can fail if the message is very old, or if your IT administrator has turned the feature off.
