This article is for administrators of Microsoft 365 tenants who would like to enable or disable features in Clipchamp in their organization. This includes features in the video editor, camera, video player, and on the homepage.

The video player, camera and homepage were previously Stream branded. Stream and Clipchamp were brought together under the Clipchamp brand as the unified Microsoft 365 video offering.
If you are a Microsoft 365 administrator, you can manage access to certain Clipchamp features for individual users, groups of users or your entire organization from the Microsoft 365 Apps admin center via Cloud Policy service.
Features you can enable or disable
The following table lists the features that can be enabled or disabled and where they apply.

Steps to enable or disable features
To manage Clipchamp features, follow steps 1-6 outlined in the following article: Overview of Cloud Policy service for Microsoft 365.

At step 7, search for any of the following policies. Some of them use the Stream brand name, this will get updated soon as part of bringing Clipchamp and Stream together under the Clipchamp brand.

Next, select the policy that you’d like to configure.

Then, update the Configuration setting.

To disable a feature in Clipchamp set the Configuration setting to enabled

When ready click the Apply button

After making your selections, select Next to review your selections. Then select Create to create the policy configuration.
Note: Currently, disabling features in Clipchamp as described in this article is not available to US Government Community (GCC) High customers and Department of Defense (DoD) customers.
Disabling transcription generation in the Clipchamp player
To disable transcription generation in the Clipchamp player (formerly known as Microsoft Stream), follow these steps:

Use PowerShell to connect to SharePoint Online administration.

Run the Set-SPOTenant cmdlet to update the transcription setting to disabled:

To disable automatic transcription generation, run the following command:​​​​​​​
Set-SPOTenant -MediaTranscription Disabled​​​​​​​
To disable all transcription generation, run the following command:
Set-SPOTenant -MediaTranscriptionAutomaticFeatures Disabled
