Notes:Â
-
This article only applies to Class Notebooks created from microsoft365.com (or aka.ms/classnotebook), which live in the educator’s OneDrive. If your Class Notebook was created in Microsoft Teams or via the Microsoft 365 LTI inside an LMS (Canvas, Schoology, etc.), it lives in the team’s SharePoint site instead — look for the equivalent SharePoint or Teams steps.
-
Not sure which kind you have? In OneNote, right-click your Class Notebook in the notebook list and choose Copy Link to Notebook. If the link contains /personal/ it’s a OneDrive notebook; if it contains /sites/ or /teams/ it lives in SharePoint.
If you’ve deleted Class Notebook pages or sections and then emptied the OneNote Recycle bin, you may still be able to recover these files from OneDrive if they are still within your organization's retention window. Most IT admins keep deleted-item retention to a month or longer, but the exact timing depends on your school's administrator settings. If you are not sure whether the files are still recoverable, contact your IT admin as soon as possible.
-
Sign in to microsoft365.com.
-
Select OneDrive. If you do not see it right away, open Apps > All appsImportant: Make sure you are accessing OneDrive from your school Microsoft account associated with your Class Notebook.
-
Select Recycle bin.
-
If you don't see what you're looking for right away, select Second-stage recycle bin at the bottom of the page.
-
Select the deleted items you’d like to recover, then select Restore. Your items will be restored to their previous location in the Class Notebook. Once restored, your student notes and materials will be right where you left them.
