Here you find solutions to common issues in Microsoft Dragon Copilot.

Dragon Medical Web Extension

A website that was previously functional is no longer working since I've installed the Dragon Copilot Web Extension.

  • The extension might cause issues when interacting with some websites. If you experience issues such as performance degradation, you can temporarily disable the extension for that specific website: In the browser toolbar, select the Dragon Copilot icon  Dragon Copilot icon next to the extension icon Puzzle, and turn off Extension enabled.

Microphone conflicts

I've got Dragon Copilot and Dragon Medical One running at the same time, and I'm using a PowerMic or SpeechMike to dictate in Dragon Copilot. Dragon Copilot displays a banner at the top: PowerMic connected - Disable the buttons or change the microphone if there are microphone conflicts.

  • As long as you don't experience any issues, there's nothing you need to do.

  • If you use the same microphone to dictate in Dragon Medical One and your button press is recognized in Dragon Medical One rather than Dragon Copilot, or your dictation goes into both apps when it should only go into Dragon Copilot, press CTRL + ALT + P in Dragon Medical One to disable the microphone buttons there; the same keyboard shortcut also enables the microphone buttons when they're disabled. If this doesn't work, contact your administrator and ask if they've configured a different hotkey.

  • If you use the same microphone to dictate in Dragon Medical One and your button press is recognized in Dragon Copilot rather than Dragon Medical One, or your dictation goes into both apps when it should only go into Dragon Medical One, select Disable buttons or Change microphone in the banner at the top of the Dragon Copilot app. If you disable the microphone buttons, you can still use keyboard shortcuts or the buttons in the app to start/stop ambient recording or dictation. To enable the buttons again, select Enable buttons in the banner at the top.

Dragon Copilot web only: Microphone access denied

I (intentionally or accidentally) didn't allow the Dragon Copilot web app access to the microphone when I was asked to do so after signing in. Now Dragon Copilot won't let me start a dictation or an ambient recording, and Dragon Copilot displays a banner at the top: Microphone access denied - Grant microphone access in your browser settings and refresh the app.

In Microsoft Edge, do the following:

  1. Go to Settings > Privacy, search, and services > Site permissions > All permissionsMicrophone. In the Customised behaviours section, you can see that the Dragon Copilot web app has been added to the list of sites Not allowed to use your microphone.

  2. Delete the app from the block list.

  3. Switch back to the browser tab where you have Dragon Copilot open and refresh the page.

  4. When you're asked to allow Dragon Copilot to use your microphone, select Allow.

In Google Chrome, do the following:

  1. Go to Settings > Privacy and security > Site settings > Microphone. In the Customised behaviours section, you can see that the Dragon Copilot web app has been added to the list of sites Not allowed to use your microphone.

  2. Delete the app from the block list.

  3. Switch back to the browser tab where you have Dragon Copilot open and refresh the page.

  4. When you're asked to allow Dragon Copilot to use your microphone, select Allow while visiting the site.

Keyboard shortcuts

I pressed a keyboard shortcut and it didn't work.

  • Make sure you use the correct keyboard shortcut. To look up available keyboard shortcuts, select the settings icon on the upper right and select General > Keyboard shortcuts.

  • Dragon Copilot web and embedded: Make sure Dragon Copilot has the window focus when you press the keyboard shortcut; otherwise, it won't work.

  • Dragon Copilot desktop: The following keyboard shortcuts only work if Dragon Copilot has the window focus: new session, cancel requests, go to prompt field, split view on/off. The following keyboard shortcuts also work when the window focus is on other apps: ambient mic on/off, dictation mic on/off, go to next field, go to previous field, minimize app, maximize app. If they don't work as expected, the keyboard shortcut is also used by another app on your computer and you need to assign a different keyboard shortcut to that action.
