Create new tasks with Copilot in Planner (preview)
Applies To
Microsoft365.com Microsoft Office Microsoft PlannerAbigail graduated from college three months ago and recently started her first job as a Marketing Coordinator at a digital customer experience agency. Her first assignment is to develop a marketing campaign celebrating a client’s 75th anniversary. The client has shared a list of high-level goals for the campaign, and now Abigail needs to break those down into specific, actionable tasks.
To create tasks for the campaign in Planner, Abigail completes the following steps:
-
Open the Planner app in Microsoft Teams.
-
Select My Plans to see a list of existing plans.
-
Select an existing plan.
-
At the top right of the plan, select Copilot
.Note: Copilot is available only with premium plans. If you don’t see the Copilot icon
at the top of your plan, it means the plan was originally created as a basic one. -
In the compose box, enter, "Add tasks for generating over 100,000 impressions on a social media post."
-
Select Send
. Copilot adds its suggested tasks to the plan.
Abigail repeats this process using Copilot in Planner (preview) for all the client's goals until she has a robust list of tasks to complete. She can then add the client's goals to the plan and connect tasks to those goals, or create buckets in the plan's board view and add tasks to them.
