Find apps and use them in channels, chats, and meetings in Microsoft Teams. Apps can show up in several places depending on what they do and how they’re built.  

Add an app to a tab in a channel or chat

  1. Select Add a tab Select to add an item. at the top of a channel or chat.

  2. Search for or select the app you want to add. 

  3. Add information if needed and select Save. The app appears at the top of your channel or chat.

Add apps in messages

  • In the message box, select Actions and apps Actions and apps button.

If you don't see the app you want, select More options More options button, find the one you want, and select Add.

Apps as Connectors

Important: 

  • All new Office 365 Connector creation will be blocked starting August 15, 2024.

  • All existing Office 365 Connectors in all clouds will no longer be available as of October 1, 2024.

Connectors are apps that send notifications and information to a channel. To add a connector:

  • Go to the channel you want, select More options More options buttonConnectors, and choose an app. You'll be prompted to add a service and configure notifications.

View information in an app outside a team, channel, or chat

You can view all your information from your use of an app across Teams in one instance of the app.

  • Select View more apps More options button and choose an app.

All apps

Looking for all apps? On the left side of Teams, select Apps Square containing plus sign to search or browse for apps available to your organization. Discover new apps based on Categories. Some apps require you to subscribe or sign in.

Apps in meetings

Add an app to a scheduled meeting to improve how you work and collaborate with your team.

  1. Before a scheduled meeting starts, open the calendar invite and select the Add a tab  Add an app or tab button​​​​​​​ at the top.

  2. Choose an app and select Add.

  3. During the meeting, view content with your attendees and gather information from your added app. Apps stay as tabs in your invite, so you can get to them any time after a meeting.
