An eSIM is a built‑in digital SIM that lets your Windows PC connect to a cellular network, similar to how a phone uses mobile data. Unlike a physical SIM, an eSIM doesn’t require a SIM card.

To get connected, you must activate an eSIM profile from a supported mobile operator. Some operators let you download an eSIM profile directly from their website. Others provide a QR code or activation code to add the profile.

If you don’t have a mobile operator yet, you can sign up with one to access cellular data in more places. If your PC doesn’t support eSIM, you’ll need a physical SIM card from your mobile operator.

Mobile operators that support downloading profiles

The mobile operators listed below support downloading an eSIM profile directly from their websites. Follow the instructions provided by your operator to download and install the profile.

For more information about setting up and using eSIM, see Use an eSIM to get a cellular data connection on your Windows PC.

Important: Support for the Mobile Plans app ended in February 2026. To connect your PC, use your mobile operator’s website to download an eSIM profile or add one using a QR code or activation code.

Supported mobile operators for the Mobile Plans app

The Mobile Plans app in Windows helps you set up and manage a cellular data plan with a supported mobile operator, so you can get online using an embedded SIM (eSIM) in your PC.

With the Mobile Plans app, you can quickly connect your Windows device to mobile operators worldwide. Check back in the Mobile Plans app as more mobile operators are added over time.
