How long do files and data remain available for in Microsoft Teams Free?

Microsoft Teams Free stores files and photos you've shared along with other items for easy access across all of your devices.

However, each item has a different length of time that it's available in the application:

Messages	Determined by user*
Group titles	Determined by user*
Pictures	Determined by user*
Files shared in the chat	Determined by user*
Calendar items	Determined by user*
Call history	30 days
User profile	Determined by user*
Contacts	Determined by user*
Diagnostic data	Up to 13 months, controlled by user under privacy settings on the Microsoft account page
User Join Code	Determined by user*
Group Join Code	Determined by user*
Tasks	Determined by user*
Presence status message	Determined by user*

*These item types are available until they are deleted, the user leaves the conversation, or permission are updated

Note: When a file is shared, everyone has access to files with permission settings set to Anyone with this link. When you leave a chat, group chat, or community, other participants and members still have access ⁠to shared and uploaded files. You will need to go to OneDrive to ⁠stop or change share permissions.
