What it does
Copilot in SharePoint can help automate actions in a SharePoint document library by using information derived from file content.
This allows workflows to use file content as part of their conditions or actions.
How to use it
- Go to the SharePoint document library where you want to automate actions.
- Open Copilot in SharePoint using the floating button.
- Use Copilot in SharePoint to help create or populate columns based on file content.
- Use those columns when setting up rules or workflows in the library.
- Save and apply the workflow.
What to expect
- Automation is based on metadata available in the library.
- Copilot in SharePoint doesn’t run workflows by itself.
- Files are not moved, renamed, or deleted unless a workflow is configured to do so.
- Existing permissions and access controls continue to apply.
