When you create an ambient recording, Microsoft Dragon Copilot automatically creates a transcript. Dragon Copilot informs you that the transcript is available via an AI content card on the Timeline tab and by displaying a blue dot next to the Transcript tab.

Open the transcript

You can open the transcript in the following ways:

  • Select the Transcript tab.

  • On the Timeline tab, select Transcript in the title of the AI content card that logged the creation of the transcript.

Navigate and understand the transcript

On the Transcript tab, you see the Recording started and Recording ended timestamps for the ambient recordings in the session.

The transcribed conversation between you and your patient is displayed as follows:

  • Your side of the conversation is identified by your initials on a gray background (for example,  TranscriptDoctorLightMode in light mode,  TranscriptDoctorDarkMode in dark mode) with your name next to it.

  • The patient's statements are identified by their initials on a pink background with their name next to it. If Dragon Copilot doesn't have access to the patient information , their statements are marked with a placeholder avatar on a pink background (for example,  TranscriptUnknownLightMode in light mode,  TranscriptUnknownDarkMode in dark mode) with Unknown displayed next to it.

  • If a third person (such as a parent accompanying a minor) contributed to the conversation, they are identified by a placeholder avatar on a pink background (TranscriptUnknownLightMode in light mode, TranscriptUnknownDarkMode in dark mode) with Unknown displayed next to it.

  • Each turn in the conversation has a timestamp displayed next to the name of the speaker.

  • If the conversation was held in Spanish, Spanish captured is displayed at the top. The Spanish transcript is displayed as a single block of text that doesn't distinguish between speakers.

Compare the transcript to the note

To compare the note with the transcript of the ambient recording, select the split view icon  split view icon on the upper right, select the Note tab on the one side and the Transcript tab on the other.

Note: Split view is not available in Dragon Copilot mobile.
