Using Dragon Copilot prompts is like having a clinical assistant ready to help you document, clarify, and communicate more efficiently. A prompt is a short instruction or question to tell Dragon Copilot what you want it to do. Complex prompts help you quickly make changes to multiple note sections at the same time, retrieve complex clinical facts, and more.

Important: 

  • The results from prompts depend on the content in the combined transcript and note sections Dragon Copilot generates. Adopting best practices for verbalization during ambient recording can improve the quality of the responses to your prompts.   • Your primary specialty setting determines the AI output you receive in your notes. Learn how to select your specialty here.

  • Dragon Copilot cannot search your EHR or any past sessions for the patient.​​​​​​​

Prompt examples (what do you want Dragon to do?)

Below are some more complex prompt examples that edit multiple sections and/or include clinical references.

Do you have revisions to multiple sections of the note?

​​​​​​​ Try these:

  • Reorder the diagnosis making the Reflux first, Add that the patients mother and sister both have reflux, add the suggested ICD-10 codes and that the patient has no known drug allergies.

  • Put the assessment and plan in bullet points, Add that the patient was prescribed Bactrim for suspected nephrolithiasis, also that the patient felt they have not been properly hydrating, and add the suggested ICD-10 codes.

  • Add to the family history that the patient’s mother and grandmother both have a history of Asthma. Add to the assessment and plan that the patient as prescribed Flonase to help with flare ups and add the suggested ICD-10 codes.

Try these:

  • What are the common non-pharmacological treatments for managing pain associated with a cast R wrist, and how effective are they?

  • What are the empiric antibiotic choices with dosages pending a urine culture according to the MSD Manuals?

  • What are the side effects of Etoposide?

  • Are there any contraindications to prescribing Prednisone with Cisplatin?

  • According to Medline Plus, what other conditions can present with lower right quadrant pain and right sided flank pain?
