Turn tablet mode on or off in Windows
Applies To
Tablet mode in Windows makes the interface more touch‑friendly on devices with touch‑capable screens, such as tablets and 2‑in‑1 PCs. It optimizes the layout for touch input by making buttons easier to tap and improving on‑screen navigation. Â
Windows 11 doesn't have an option to manually turn tablet mode on or off. Windows 11 instead automatically turns tablet mode on or off with touch capable Windows devices
Windows 11 tablet mode is automatically turned on:Â
-
When it detects a wired or wireless/Bluetooth keyboard is detached from the Windows device.
-
When the Windows device is converted into a tablet form factor.
Windows 11 tablet mode is automatically turned off:Â
-
When a a wired keyboard or a wireless/Bluetooth keyboard is attached to the Windows device.
-
When the Windows device is converted to a traditional laptop form factor.
