Like any other content you create in Microsoft Dragon Copilot, memos are related to a session. If you don't have a session open, you need to create one before you can dictate a memo.

Create a memo

To create a memo, do the following:

  1. Select Create memo on the Timeline tab, or select the Memos tab and select Add memo on the upper left.

  2. Place the cursor in the memo field, select the dictation icon  Microphone-24 at the bottom left and start speaking. Alternatively, press the record button on your microphone or use the configured keyboard shortcut (with Dragon Copilot having the window focus). The icon changes to indicate that recording is on:  Microphone-active-24

  3. When you're finished, select the dictation icon Microphone-active-24, press the record button on your microphone or use the configured keyboard shortcut (with Dragon Copilot having the window focus).

To create another memo, select Add memo and repeat the steps above.

Insert texts in the memo

You can insert texts stored in your library in the memo. To insert a text, say the spoken form of the text or select the library icon  library icon to the right of the memo and select a text. The text is inserted in the memo at the cursor position; if the cursor isn't placed in the memo, the text is appended at the end of the memo.

Note: To open the library, select Manage library at the bottom of the list; to create a new text, select Create text at the bottom of the list.

Remarks

  • To change the default name of a memo, select the vertical ellipsis icon to the right of the memo heading and select Rename.

  • Alternatively to dictation, you can enter text in your memo via typing.

  • By default, the memos in a session are sorted by creation date, with the newest memo at the top. To change the sort order, select the sort icon  SortAscending on the upper right.

  • To delete a memo, select the vertical ellipsis icon to the right of the memo heading and select Delete.

  • To delete multiple memos at the same time, select the check boxes to the left of the corresponding memo headings and select the delete icon on the upper left.

Review and edit your memos

To edit text, do one of the following:

  • Navigate (manually or via voice command) to where you want to add text and type or dictate.

  • Select text (manually or via voice command) and overwrite it via typing or dictating.

Your edits are automatically saved every 10 seconds or whenever you leave the tab.

Transfer your memos

You can transfer memos created in Microsoft Dragon Copilot to anywhere in your EHR or another app.

Important: Make sure you transfer any memos stored in the dictation clipboard before you sign out; otherwise, Dragon Copilot clears the dictation clipboard, deleting any text.
