Choose your notification location

Customize where Teams for web notifications appear. In Teams, select Settings and more More options icon > Settings Settings button > Notifications and activity . Under Display > Position on the screen, choose where you want to see notifications.

Declined an invite? Mute the meeting chat

Now, when you decline a meeting invitation, you won’t receive notifications for the meeting chat or see it in your chat list. Accept a meeting to stay in the loop with all relevant communications. To learn more, see Manage your calendar in Microsoft Teams.

Transcription for multilingual meetings

Meeting organizers can now enable multilingual speech recognition in meeting options, allowing each participant to set their spoken language. Each participant will see the transcript in their own language. Available for organizers with Copilot or Teams Premium licenses. Intelligent recap for multilingual meetings

Check your mic volume in meetings

The new mic volume indicator in Teams meetings helps you see your audio levels in real time and ensure people in the meeting can hear you.

Share files easier and faster

Quickly share files from chat, the Shared tab, or channel posts to other chats and channels. File permissions are maintained when shared, so recipients always have the correct access. No more typos with enhanced spell check

Catch potential errors while you type in the compose box. Choose a correction in the dropdown menu, ignore, or add the flagged word to your dictionary. Updated Notes pane in meetings

The Notes pane in Teams meetings is now more streamlined for clarity and organization. The header is now simply Notes, matching the meeting control, and options like Open in new window and Copy component are combined into a single header. To learn more, see Take meeting notes in Microsoft Teams.

Private coaching in the Queues app

Copilot gets smarter with screen-shared content

Copilot in Teams now analyzes content shared on-screen during recorded meetings. Prompt Copilot to summarize or find specific details and insights from both the conversation and presentation. Edit your display name in meetings

Customize your presence during a Teams meeting by editing your display name. Your edited name will remain throughout the duration of the meeting. To change your name, select People People or Show Participants button in your meeting controls. In the Participants pane, hover over your name and select More options More options icon > Edit display name. Enter a name and select Save.

Keep shared content confidential

Tailor your Activity feed to you

In your Teams activity feed, apply the @Mentions filter to see your personal mentions or the Tag mentions filter to see any tag mentions that included you.

Preview files where they’re shared

Meeting transcription enhancements

Check out these updates to the transcription experience in meetings:

  • Simpler settings: Select Transcript > Language settings > Meeting spoken language for meeting language and translation settings.

  • Better transcription accuracy: People will be prompted to select the spoken language when turning on meeting transcription, recording, or Copilot.

  • Access to spoken language settings: Only the meeting organizer, co-organizers, and person who initiated the transcript can change the spoken language.

  • Mismatched language notifications: The organizer, co-organizers, and transcript initiator will be notified if someone speaks a different language than the one selected in the spoken language settings.

A smarter way to recap events

Intelligent recap is now available after Teams town halls and webinars. Organizers, co-organizers, and presenters can browse the event recording by speakers and topics and access AI-generated notes, tasks, and name mentions. End events for everyone with one click

When an organizer or presenter selects the new End event button during a town hall, webinar, or structured meeting, attendees will see a message that the session has concluded, and presenters will return to the green room.

See clearly with super resolution

Automatically enhance incoming video feeds for more clarity by turning on super resolution. In your meeting controls, select the dropdown arrow next to Camera teams show video icon and select More video effects and settings > Settings. Then, turn on the Enhance with super resolution toggle.

More meeting multitasking

When you select Chat Teams Chat Tab icon, Notes Notes icon, or Copilot Copilot icon* in your meeting controls, select Open in new window Pop out window icon to pop the content out into a separate window. Open multiple windows to keep meeting content in view without switching between them in your meeting controls. Resize and move the windows on your screen for better focus and productivity.

*Copilot is available with Teams Premium or M365 Copilot licenses.

Choose your notification location

Event transcript improvements

Now, event organizers can download a webinar or town hall transcript from the event recording page. Transcripts also now include RTMP-In 708 captions from the event.

Take control of your voice and face data

Now, instead of Teams admins, you’re in control of downloading and sharing your voice and face recognition data. To export this data, go to Settings and more More options icon > Settings Settings button > Recognition Transcript icon in Teams. If the data is available, select Export.

Host Mesh events with people outside your org

Invite guests outside your org to Mesh events in Teams for more immersive collaboration and networking experiences. Guests with Mesh licenses, such as Teams Premium, can join Mesh events from their PC. Support for guests joining anonymously or from the Mesh app on Meta Quest coming soon. Connect across rooms in multi-room Mesh events

Chat in Microsoft Teams town halls

Encourage engagement between event attendees, presenters, and co-organizers by using chat, now available in Teams town halls. Select Chat Teams Chat Tab icon in the meeting controls to join the conversation. To learn more, see Chat in a town hall in Microsoft Teams.

Chat privately in a town hall with event group chat

A private event group chat between organizers, co-organizers, and presenters is now available in Teams town halls. Chat in an event group chat before, during, and after a town hall. Event group chats can't be seen by attendees. To learn more, see Chat in a town hall in Microsoft Teams.

Apply filters when searching for content related to specific people

Search a name in the Teams search bar and select Messages, Files, Group chats, or Teams and Channels below the search bar to filter results related to that person. When you chose a filter, you'll only see results for that content type.

Sensitivity labels in Teams events

Add an extra layer of security to a Teams webinar or town hall if confidential information will be shared by adding a sensitivity label. To add a label, open the event in your Teams calendar. In Details, select Sensitivity​​​​​​​and choose a label from the dropdown menu. To learn more, see Sensitivity labels for Teams meetings.

Balance language interpretation volume

Balance language interpretation volume to hear more interpreted audio or original audio. In your meeting controls, select More actions More options icon> Language and speech Language and speech icon> Language interpretation Language and speech icon. Turn off town hall and webinar emails

When you schedule a town hall or webinar, you can turn off Teams attendee emails before publishing the event. In the scheduling form, go to Setup > Details and turn the Enable attendee emails toggle off. This setting can't be changed after the event is published. Intelligent meeting recap notifications in Teams

Get notified when an intelligent meeting recap is ready to view and select the notification to go right to it. Make emoji your own with your preferred skin tone

The new chat details pane gives you all the info you need, without leaving the conversation. Just open a Teams chat and select Open chat details Open chat details icon to view pinned messages, search for specifics, and more.

Minimized meeting window improvements

Streamlined feedback experience

Find shared content in chat

Quickly access shared links and files in a Teams chat by selecting the Shared tab. Use the search bar to find specific content, or filter results by selecting the Recent, Files, or Links tabs.

Show or hide the Discover feed

To show or hide the Discover feed in your channels list, select Settings and more  More options icon > Settings Settings button and turn the Show Discover in your channel list toggle on or off.

Your emoji just got personal

Customize and upload your own unique emoji in Teams to react with or send in chat. To upload a custom emoji, select Emoji, GIFs, and Stickers Teams emoji icon for chat in a message compose box. Then, select Emoji > Your org's emoji Custom emoji icon > Add emoji Add an app or tab button. Choose an image or GIF file and select Add emoji.

Search results now include chat messages

When you search in Teams, the results will now include messages. Filter the results to show messages only by pressing the Enter key and selecting Messages beneath the search bar. To learn more, see Search for messages and more in Microsoft Teams.

Keep inactive channels hidden

Teams now automatically detects and hides your inactive channels. To view hidden channels, select Teams Teams icon and select See all channels under a team. Select Hidden to see the team's hidden channels. Manage which channels you see by hovering over a channel and selecting Show or Hide.

Don't miss a file

Files attached to a meeting invite in Microsoft Outlook for Windows or Outlook for web are now visible in your Teams calendar on the desktop app.

Presenter orderability for webinars

Customize the order in which webinar presenters are shown on the event page. Just open the event details from your Teams calendar and select Setup > Presenter bios. Then, drag the names in the order you want. To learn more, see Customize a webinar in Microsoft Teams.

Control your channel notifications

Fine-tune the chatter in your channels by (1) opting out of notifications of all subsequent updates in a channel conversation in which you've participated, or (2) opting in to get notified of updates to a conversation in which you haven't previously participated. Select More options  More options icon next to a channel post and turn on/off notifications for the rest of the messages in that thread. All the channel information, all in one place

Get a quick overview about a channel using channel cards, available on Teams for desktop and web. Hover over a channel name in the header or wherever a channel is mentioned to see the channel description, the time of last activity, the team name, and info about members. Channel cards also provide a shortcut to notification settings, owner channel management, and the channel roster.

Set custom sound notifications

To help you stay focused, prioritize tasks and messages quickly, and avoid distractions, you can now adjust the sound on your Teams notifications. Assign different sounds to different kinds of notifications, such as urgent messages, or mute notification sounds when you’re busy or in a meeting. Go to Settings and more More options icon at the top right of Teams and find options to customize your notification sounds in the Notifications and activity menu.
