About immersive events
Immersive events are a type of virtual event available in Microsoft Teams for desktop on PC and Mac devices. They're hosted in virtual environments that can be customized with images, videos, 3D models, and more. Attendees join immersive events as avatars that can be personalized in the Teams Avatars app.Â
During an immersive event, you can:
-
Express yourself with avatar reactions, snap and share selfies in the 3D space, and collaborate in Teams chat.
-
Easily start presentations and guide attendees to their seats or to the stage for Q&A sessions.
-
Use no-code tools and ready-made experience templates to design 3D spaces with branding, images, videos, 3D objects, and more.
Note:Â Immersive events aren't currently available on Quest.
Immersive event features
Immersive events have unique attributes, including spatial interaction, co-presence, and immersion, that make attendees feel like they're physically together in a 3D space.Â
Spatial interaction through directionality and distance enables multiple small group discussions in the same place, adding familiar human elements to digital connections. Spending time with others in the same 3D environment also creates a powerful sense of togetherness, or co-presence, even when you're not actively speaking.Â
Co-presence often leads to spontaneous conversations and deeper connections from sharing experiences. Immersive events in Teams help you focus on what matters: people, conversations, and a unique shared space.Â
