Create a post reply channel
Post-reply channels layout is ideal for announcement style posts and other communications that need to reach many people at once.
To create a new post-reply channel, create a new channel, then select Posts layout as the conversation type.

On the left side of the app, select Chats
. If using the separate view, select Teams . -
Select New items from the drop-down at the top of your list of chats and channels.

Select New channel

Choose Posts layout as the conversation type.
Create a threaded channel
Threaded channels layout encourages immediate back-and-forth and deeper side conversations without interrupting the main discussion.
To create a new threaded channel, create a new channel, then select Threads layout as the conversation type.

On the left side of the app, select Chats
. If using the separate view, select Teams . -
Select New items from the drop-down at the top of your list of chats and channels.

Select New channel

Choose Threads layout as the conversation type.
Notes:

Threaded channels are available to most Teams users; however, they might not be accessible to some guest or external users, EDU accounts or those using an older version of Teams. For those users, all channels will be in a posts layout.

If you use a posts layout for a threaded channel, some posts might appear out of order. You might also experience issues with bolding and channel notifications.
Change your channel layout
Any channel owner or certain members, depending on permissions, can choose a channel's conversation type. They can also switch between threads or posts layouts as needed.
To change an existing channel's layout:

Go to the channel, then point to reveal and select More options

Select Edit channel
. -
Under Conversation layout, select either Threads layout or Posts layout.
Note: If a channel member doesn’t have the latest version of Teams, a threaded channel will appear as a post-reply.
