Designate people to control production tools during live town halls in Microsoft Teams for smooth, more professional event experiences.

Give control of production tools

Before and during a town hall, open the event meeting options to designate which specific roles or people can control the production tools.

Specific organizers, co-organizers, or presenters who can control production tools can start the event, manage what attendees see, and end the event.

Before a town hall

To give control of production tools before a town hall:

  1. Select Calendar Teams Calendar tab icon in Teams.

  2. Double-click an upcoming town hall.

  3. Select Meeting options Settings button.

  4. Go to Production tools  Production tools icon in Microsoft Teams.

  5. Select an option from the Who has control of production tools dropdown menu:

    • Organizer and co-organizers: You and co-organizers you added to the town hall can control production tools.

    • Organizer, co-organizers, and presenters: You, co-organizers, and presenters you added to the town hall can control production tools.

    • Specific people: Only specific people can control production tools. People must already be added to the town hall to appear in the Search for participants field.

  6. Select Apply.

  7. Select Save Save icon.

During a town hall

To give control of production tools during a town hall:

  1. Select More actions Generic Ellipsis button in the meeting controls.

  2. Select Settings  Settings button> Meeting options  Meeting options icon.

  3. Go to Production tools  Production tools icon in Microsoft Teams.

  4. Select an option from the Who has control of production tools dropdown menu.

  5. Select Apply.

These changes will take effect immediately.
